AWS Launches New Data Center In Canada
Amazon Web Services, the cloud services arm of Amazon.com, has opened up a new region from new data centers in Canada, which lets its users run and store data in Canada. According to Amazon, its new AWS Canada (Central) Region is run out of a new data center in Montreal, Quebec, and allows its users to store and run applications in Canada. The company now has 40 availability zones available through AWS. Amazon said the new data centers in Canada are 99 percent powered by hydropower.
