Electric Lightwave Acquired By Zayo In $1.42 Billion Deal
Fiber communications and network operator Electric Lightwave, which is based in Vancouver, Washington, has been acquird by bandwidth provider Zayo Group, in a deal worth $1.42 billion, the two announced this morning. Zayo said the acquisition will help it add more than 12,000 route miles of fiber across the Western U.S., including a significant amount of metro area fiber deployed in Portland, Seattle, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Salt Lake City, Spokane and Boise. Until recently, Electric Lightwave had ben known as Integra Telecom.
