Spaceflight Industries Signs Satellite Launch Deal With Google's Terra Bella
Seattle-based Spaceflight Industries, which has a business organizing launch manifests for shared satellite launches, says it has signed on another customer for the launch of a fleet of satellites, Terra Bella. According to Spaceflight Industries, Terra Bella will launch a satellite payload on an upcoming, SpaceX Falcon 9 launch expected in 2017. Financial details of the contract win were not announced. Spaceflight said that Terra Bella will be the co-lead on a rideshare mission which will launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California in late 2017. Spaceflight says is SSO-A rideshare mission is already at 90 percent capacity, with more than 20 payloads from 10 companies on the manifest. Spaceflight provides launch services, mission management, support hardware, payload integration, and orbital deployment of satellites. Terra Bella is the Google company which is deploying a fleet of earth imaging satellites for Google.
