Spaceflight Industries Shows Off First Satellite Images

Seattle-based Spaceflight Industries has shown off the first images from its BlackSky Pathfinder-1 satellite. The satellite--which was launched on September 26th--is the first spacecraft in a fleet of earth imaging satellites the company hopes to launch. The company said it spent less than $10M to build and launch the satellite, which weighs 50kg (approx 110 pounds). Spaceflight wants to launch a 60-satellite constellation, which it says will allow consumers to get access to earth imaging in "key zones" on an hourly basis, at a cost of approximately $90 per image.
