GlobeSherpa, RideScout Become Moovel, Set HQ In Portland

Portland-based GlobeSherpa, and fellow transportation app developer RideScout--both of which were acquired by Daimler AG in the last two years--said today they have become moovel North America, a new company headquartered here in Portland. Both companies develop transportation applications, and had been acquired in two separate transactions by Daimler AG, the owner of Mercedes-Benz. RideScout, based in Austin, Texas, was acquired in 2014, and GlobeSherpa was then swallowed up by RideScout last year. The new, merged company will be led by Nat Parker, the co-founder and former CEO of GlobeSherpa.
