TriMet Riders Can Now Buy Tickets On Mobile, Thanks To GlobeSherpa
Riders on Trimet, the commuter rail, bus, and light rail operator, can now use their mobile phone to purchase fares--if they're willing to try out a beta of a new product from Portland's GlobeSherpa. GlobeSherpa and Trimet said they are launching a public beta test of TriMet Tickets, a mobile ticketing application, allowing riders to purchase tickets for buses, MAX trains, WES Commuter Rail, and the Portland Streetcar. Although the debut of the product appears to have been a little bumpy--GlobeSherpa reported some issues it ran into letting users install the app via HockeyApp, because it has not yet been released officially into the Apple app store or Google Play.
