BankSimple Moves To Portland
BankSimple, a startup developing a new "personal banking" service, said Wednesday that it is consolidating all of its operations into a single, Portland headquarters, gathering together a widespread team which had offices in New York, San Francisco, and Portland. The firm said that it has decided to move into one location, in the Pearl district of Portland, saying that it was "important" that the company have "everyone in the same place." In a blog post, BankSimple said it selected Portland--instead of startup hotbeds New York and San Francisco--because it "the right environment for us to grow our team and solidify our culture." As part of the relocation, BankSimple said it would be ramping up its hiring in Portland significantly. Portland is where co-founder and CTO Alex Payne had been based.
