Lyft Launches Ridesharing Service, Lyft Line, In Seattle
On-demand ride service Lyft said this morning that it will launch its multi-rider ridesharing service, Lyft Line, in Seattle, along with five other cities. The new service--which competes with a similar, multi-rider service from Uber called UberPool--lets multiple riders going the same direction split fares on Lyft. The expansion brings the total number of cities with Lyft Line to 15. Lyft said, in addition to Seattle, it will expand Lyft Line to Denver, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Jose, and Newark.
