Amazon Tops 100 Dash Buttons: Coffee, Tissue, Slim Jims, and Condoms
Seattle-based Amazon.com says it now has over 100 brands represented through its Amazon Dash button program, which lets consumers re-order products just by pushing a dedicated, connected button. The big expansion of the program means users can do everything from re-order coffee (both Starbucks and Peet's Coffee) to toilet paper (Cottonelle), to condoms (Trojan). Amazon's Dash works for Prime members, who pay $4.99 for each Dash Button they'd like; those first orders are essentially free, as Amazon discounts those first orders by $4.99. Dash helps both the brands and Amazon effectively lock in time stressed, busy customers--who just have to press the buttons to reorder, rather than think about putting them on a shopping list.
