Redfin, Zillow Back White House Open Mapping, Data Effort
Two, Seattle area companies--Redfin, and Zillow--are both backing a new effort from the White House to bolster jobs and opportunity for citizens. According to the White House and the companies, Redfin has launched a new tool called Opportunity Score, which is based on the company's Walk Score, to help Americans find housing with easy access to jobs; and Zillow has launched Baltimore Explorer, a tool to explore the opportunity and growth potential of Baltimore's neighborhoods. Both of the tools were rolled out as part of an effort by the White House to use open data, mapping, and other tools to help use data to improve lives.
