Seattle-based Zillow said this week that it is one of 44 companies who are backing an effort by the current Obama White House, to boost equal pay and diversity in the workforce. Zillow joined Adobe, AT&T, Autodesk, eBay, Edison International, Estee Lauder, InterContinental Hotels Group, New Belgium Brewing, and many others in committing to bolster equal pay efforts, including working to share best practices and develop better hiring, promotion, and pay policies, according to the White House. Zillow said its existing efforts include evaluating pay equity twice a year, and building out training to be aware of unconscious biases, and reviews its hiring and promotion processes. Zillow pointed out that it already has generous maternity and parental leave policies, and that its offices have designated nursing rooms, equipped with hospital grade pumps and fridges for mothers.
