Redfin Takes A Jab At Zillow's Pricing Estimates

Seattle-based Redfin is taking a jab at crosstown neighbor Zillow, saying this week that it has a run a study which finds its estimates were more than twice as likely to be within 3 percent of a home's selling price, than Zillow's Zestimate. According to Redfin, an independent study found that Redfin Estimates "more accurately predicted the value of thousands of homes for sale than estimates from other leading providers of public home-value estimates." Redfin said it tapped market research firm SSRS for the study, where it found that only 29 percent of homes sold within 3 percent of the price predicted by Zillow, and even less--10.26 percent--for competitor Homes.com.
