Microsoft Buys Secure Islands

Redmond-based Microsoft announced this morning that it has acquired Israeli security software developer Secure Islands TEchnology, Ltd.. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, however, reports place the buy at between $100M and $150M. Microsoft said Secure Islands provides data classification, protection and loss prevention technologies, which it will use to enhance its Azure Rights Management Service.
