Ossia Targets OEMs With Wireless Power Technology
Redmond-based Ossia, the developer of wireless charging technology, said it has started making its products available to OEMs. The startup--which recently announced a funding round from KDDI--says its technology allows device manufacturers to use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas on their devices to charge devices up to 30 feet away. Ossia's technology--which it calls "Cota"--transmits wireless signals which can be used to power electronic devices. The company says its technology only requires slight modifications to circuitry and device firmware to work. Ossia has not said how much power its wireless power devices can transmit over the air.
