Ossia Finds Funding From Japan's KDDI For Wireless Charging
Redmond-based Ossia, which develops wireless charging technology, said this week that it has scored an investment from Japanese mobile carrier KDDI. Size of the investment was not disclosed. The funding came from the KDDI Open Innovation Fund. Ossia said it has now raised more than $10M in recent months for its technology, which it is licensing to consumer electronics manufacturers and others. Ossia is led by Hatem Zeine, and until recently had been operating in stealth mode. The company said its wireless charging devices can charge devices as far away as 30 feet. More information »
