Cray Gets Oil and Gas Win

Seattle-based Cray reported Tuesday that it has scored a "significant" contract with oil and gas company Petroleum Geo-Services (PPGS). Size of the win was not announced. Cray said the oil and gas firm will install a Cray XC40 supercomputer and Cray Sonexion 2000 storage system, to help with work on high resolution seismic maps and 3-dimensional (3D) models of the earth's sub-surface.
