Microsoft Chops 2100 As Axe Falls Again In Redmond
Redmond-based Microsoft is cutting a total of 2,100 employees and shutting Microsoft Research's Silicon Valley labs, as the latest round of cuts announced in July ripples through the computer software giant. The moves--which were widely reported yesterday and confirmed by the company today--apparently includes around 750 employees in the Seattle area. Microsoft said in July that it would be cutting a total of 18,000 jobs, with a huge chunk of those from recently acquired Nokia.
