Cray Appoints New CTO
Seattle-based Cray, the supercomputer maker, said this morning that it has named a new CTO. The company said it has named Steve Scott--formerly at Google--as its Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Scott is no stranger to Cray, where he began his career in 1992. He eventually became Senior Vice President and CTO of the company, before stints at NVIDIA and Google, where he had been Principal Engineer for Google's Platforms group. Cray said Scott had previously been instrumental in design of its Cray X1 and Cray Cascade supercomputers.
