Itron Goes With Microsoft Azure For Cloud Hosting

Liberty Lake-based smart utility meter maker Itron has selected Microsoft Azure as its cloud computing platform, the company said this morning, for its Itron Analytics application. Itron said it is using Microsoft Azure to provide its cloud storage, backup, recovery, and other infrastructure for its analytics application, which helps utility analyze the data being generated by its smart grid systems. Itron said the addition of Microsoft Azure lets its users either install the app locally, run in the cloud, or have Itron manage and run the service for those utilities.
