Cray Rolls Out Tiered Storage For Lustre
Seattle-based supercomputer maker Cray says it has rolled out a new, tiered storage product aimed at the Lustre file system, which allows its customers to archive and store data across different storage tiers. According to Cray, its new data management and protection system, Cray Tiered Adaptive Storage (TAS), simplifies the movement of data across different storage tiers and locations. Companies use tiered storage to move data between different kinds of storage--for example, moving older data to nearline tape storage, or migrating unused data to less expensive storage arrays. Cray did not say how much its new TAS product will cost.
