Boeing Buys Software Company AerData

Seattle-based Boeing said today that it has acquired AerData Group B.VD., a developer of software used for aircraft lease management, engine fleet planning, and records management. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. AerDat was based in the Netherlands. Boeing said that AerData has 120 employees, and that it will take AerData's products and make them part of its Boeing Edge suite of aviation services. The acquisition is the second software acquisition by Boeing in the last week; the company also acquired ETS Aviation, a maker of fuel efficiency management software, on Friday.
