F5 Networks Buys Defense.Net
Seattle-based F5 Networks said late Thursday that it has acquired Defense.Net, a developer of cloud security services aimed at the data center market. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. F5 said the move will help expand its portfolio of security solutions. Defense.net is a provider of a distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation service, which helps websites and companies decrease the impact of DDoS attacks on their systems. F5 Networks said the acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on its operating results.
