CollegeNET Sues Common Application Over College Apps
Portland-based CollegeNET, which develops software for the college education market, said today that it has filed a suit against Common Application, the nonprofit which has been promoting a single, common college application across multiple college and university colleges. According to CollegeNET, it has launched an antitrust suit against Common Application for viloating federal antitrust laws, which it says turned the the college application market into a "straitjacketed ward of uniformity." CollegeNET complained that the group has "abused its market power" in college applications. CollegeNET's software competes against Common Application.
