Amazon Extends Amazon Coins Virtual Currency To Android

Amazon.com said this morning that it is extending its Amazon Coins virtual currency to all Android devices, a move to provide for wider adoption of its virtual currency. Amazon Coins--which lets people unlock game features through in-app purchases, or to purchase other games and apps--had previously only been available on the Kindle Fire tablet. The launch comes almost exactly a year after the initial launch of Amazon Coins. Amazon said that the virtual currency is now available on any Android device for its customers in the US, UK, and Germany. Amazon has been promoting Amazon Coins with developers, offering up a revenue share with purchases made using the virtual currency and offering up other tools to developers to promote the currency.
