Amazon Extends Coins To Kindle Fire

Seattle-based Amazon.com is looking to spur the use of its Amazon Coins virtual currency, via a free coin giveaway to Kindle Fire owners. Amazon said it would deposit $5 in free coins directly to every Kindle Fire owner, letting them purchase apps, games, and in-app items in the Amazon Appstore. Amazon said the 500 free coins will go to existing and new Kindle Fire customers in the U.S. Amazon had launched Amazon Coins back in February.
