Radisys Wins NEC
Hillsboro, Oregon-based embedded wireless software developer Radisys reported this week that its small cell software--used for the LTE market--has been selected by NEC Corporation. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Radisys said that NEC is using its TOTALeNodeB Small Cell Software as part of its outdoor, picocell products. Those products are being used to extend wireless networks and improve wireless capacity, which the companies say is being driven by the demand for people downloading content from such sites as Netflix or Youtube from their mobile devices.
