Microsoft Wins San Jose For Cloud Software

Redmond-based Microsoft announced a major customer win for Office 365, in the heart of Silicon Valley today. Microsoft said the City of San Jose is using Microsoft Office 365, Windows Azure and StorSimple, to help provide its services to residents. San Jose has around 984,000 residents. Financial impact of the win was not announced, but the win is significant in the heavily competitive Silicon Valley market, and one which is in the backyard of Google, which has been capture Microsoft's business with its own, cloud based software.
