Amazon Starts Texas Wine Delivery

Amazon Wine, the online store that lets consumers purchase wine online in certain states, said Thursday that it has begun both shipping wine to customers in Texas, as well as selling wine from Texas wineries online. Seattle-based Amazon says it now has more than 2,200 labels from 350 wineries on its wine shop. Amazon currently sells to consumers in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, and the District of Columbia; the store originally launched in November. Amazon has been slowly working through the many complicated alcohol and wine shipping rules across the U.S.; so far, the company says it has added four states since its launch last year.
