Postmates Snags $5M To Expand To Seattle

San Francisco-based Postmates, the operator of a smartphone driven, urban delivery service which lets consumers order lunch, groceries, or office supplies and get them delivered directly to their home or office, said this week that it raised $5M in funding to expand to Seattle. The startup uses a smartphone app to allow users to connect with local couriers, who can delivery everything from food to other items to users anywhere in the city. The company said this week that it raised $5M in funding from the Founders Fund. Postmates has been operating in San Francisco since last year, and just barely opened up its doors here in Seattle in the last couple of weeks. More information »
