F5 Networks Buys LineRate Systems

Seattle-based F5 Networks, the developer of Internet traffic shaping appliances, said today that it has acquired LineRate Systems, a developer of software used for software-defined, layer 7+ networking services. Financial terms of the buy were not announced by the companies. F5 said the buy will give it access to LineRate's technology, intellectual property, and engineering talent. LIneRate was based in Boulder, Colorado.
