Amazon Plans Three Fulfillment Centers In Texas
Amazon.com is continuing to extend its massive network of fulfillment centers nationwide, saying this morning that it is planning three, million-plus square foot fulfillment centers in Texas. Amazon said the new centers will be based in Coppell, Haslet and Schertz, Texas, and will create more than 1,000 jobs in that state. The three centers are part of a network of fulfillment centers used by Amazon to quickly ship items to customers; Amazon said that its 1.2 million square foot site in Schertz, and the 1 million square foot site in Coppell will handle large items, such as televisions and BBQs. The 1.1 million square foot site in Haslet is dedicated to small items like books, small electronics, and DVDs. Coppell and Haslet are suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth; Schertz is located on the outskirts of San Antonio.
