Amazon Plans New Fulfillment Center In Texas

Amazon.com is continuing its build out of its fulfillment centers, where it picks, packs, and ships products to consumers, with a new center in Texas. Amazon said Wednesday that it plans to open what will be its sixth, Texas fulfillment center, based in Haslet, which is a suburb of Dallas-Fort Worth. The new center will employ 1,000, and have 1 million square feet of space. Amazon said the new facility will pick, pack, and ship smaller customer items, such as books, electronics and toys. Amazon has major warehouse operations in Texas, and currently has 8,000 employees in the state, according to the company.
