Wash., Oregon Venture Capital Decline Shows In Latest MoneyTree Numbers

The venture capital investments in the region saw a decrease of nearly a third, year to year, according to the latest numbers from the PricewaterhouseCoopers and National Venture Capital Association's venture capital report. The MoneyTree report, which is based on data from Thomson Reuters, found that there was $194.7M in investments across 36 deals in Washington and Oregon in Q3, down from the $312.9M across 51 deals in the area in Q3 of 2011.

Nationally, venture capital activity also saw of decline in dollars and deals in Q3. Activity declined 11 percent in dollars and five percent in terms of deals nationally, compared to the second quarter of 2012, totaling $6.5 billion in 890 deals. Image courtesy Bigstock.
