Washington, Oregon See Rise In VC Investments In Q1
Both Washington and Oregon saw venture capital investments rise in Q1 of this year, according to the venture capital numbers released this evening by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), based on data from Thomson Reuters. According to the quarterly MoneyTree venture capital report, Washington had 22 investments totaling $168.0M for Q1, up from 27 investments totaling $157.83M in Q4, with Oregon's total at $58.3M in 9 deals, up from $30.3M in 6 deals in Q4.
Both states bucked an overall downward trend in venture capital activity for the nation, where enture capital investments were down 9 percent in terms of dollars, to $4.7 billion, and down 18 percent in terms of deals, to 681 deals nationwide.
