Microsoft Signs Licensing Deal With RIM
Redmond-based Microsoft said Tuesday that it has signed a patent licensing deal with Research In Motion, covering its ExFAT file technology. Microsoft said the Extended File Allocation Table patent license covers certain BlackBerry devices used by RIM. Financial details of the patent license were not disclosed. Microsoft has recently been increasing its patent licensing efforts, both for technology develops at Microsoft as well as for more controversial issues like patent coverage on Android, Google Chrome, and Linux.
