Amazon's New Employee Perk: 95 Percent Tuition Reimbursement
Amazon.com is dangling an interesting new perk to employees: it said it is offering to pay 95 percent of the tuition cost for its employees, in areas that the company said are well-paying and in high demand. Amazon said its new Amazon Career Choice Program will cover up to $2,000 per year in tuition, textbooks, and other fees to employees, in areas such as aircraft mechanics, computer-aided design, machine tool technologies, medical lab technologies, nursing, and other fields. The company said it wants to make it easier for its employees to pursue their aspirations in fields--including not working for Amazon.com.
