Amazon Extends 70 Percent Royalties to UK
Seattle-based Amazon.com is extending its enhanced, 70 percent royalty program today into the United Kingdom, according to the firm. According to Amazon, the 70 percent royalty--which offers a better earnings rate for authors publishing on the Kindle--is now available to publishers selling books in the UK. The program, which has been available in the US for a number of months, allows publishers to get more from selling their books on the Kindle at specific price points and discounts, and for support of programs like the Kindle's text-to-speech features. Amazon said that titles using the 70 percent option must sell for at least 20 percent below the lowest, list price for the physical book.
