Microsoft Sells Stake In MSNBC

Bellevue-based Microsoft said over the weekend that it is selling its stake in msnbc.com, the online news site it runs with NBCUniversal. MSNBC said Sunday that it has renamed itself NBCNews.com as a result of the deal. Microsoft is selling its stake in MSNBC to Comcast, in a deal worth approximately $300M, according to multiple reports. Microsoft and NBC entered the MSNBC.com joint venture over sixteen years ago.
