Microsoft Sues UK Retailer
Redmond-based Microsoft has sued a UK-based retailer, Comet, over sales of fake Microsoft Vista and Windows XP CDs, the firm said this morning. According to Microsoft, the UK retailer Comet Group PLC allegedly created and sold more than 94,000 sets of Windows Vista and Windows XP recovery CDs, which were sold to customers with PCs and laptops. Microsoft said Comet produced the counterfeit CDs in a factory in Hampshire, and sold the media to customers across the UK.
