Intellectual Ventures Sues Nikon

Bellevue-based Intellectual Ventures has sued Nikon over patent infringement, in a lawsuit filed this week in the U.S. District Court of Delaware. According to the lawsuit--filed against Sendai Nikon Corporation, Nikon Imaging Japan Inc., Nikon Americas Inc., and Nikon Inc.--Intellectual Ventures claims that Nikon is infringing on five different patents covering touch screens, non-destructive image editing, semiconductor image sensors, fabricating image sensors, and virtual reality cameras. Intellectual Ventures said the lawsuit came after failure to negotiate a licensing agreement with Nikon.
