Alaska Airlines Launches Social App For Facebook

Seattle-based Alaska Airlines has debuted a new, social app for Facebook, the firm said Thursday, called FlyingSocial. According to Alaska Airlines, the new app allows users to plan travel to visit their friends around the country, integrating photos of their Facebook friends in cities served by the airline, as well as the ability to see fares and link to Alaska Air's website to purchase tickets. The Facebook app follows the release of a recent iPhone app. Alaska said that the next social move on its itinerary is an Android smartphone app, which will be released later this year.
