Alaska Airlines Expands Wi-Fi
Seattle-based Alaska Airlines said today that it has extended its in-flight Internet service to nearly every aircraft in its fleet. The firm said that by the end of the month, it will have 92 percent of its fleet equipped with Wi-Fi, including all of its 737-800 and -900 aircraft. The firm said that only seven of its 117 Boeing 737s will not be offering Wi-Fi, primarily its freighter and combination freighter/passenger aircraft and three 737-400's. Alaska is using Gogo's Inflight Internet for its Wi-Fi coverage.
