Amazon Offers Jobs To Halt California Tax Effort, Says Report
Seattle-based Amazon.com has reportedly offered to set up two distribution centers in California, to step a sales tax fight in that state. According to the report from the Los Angeles Times, the offer was made at a a meeting of Amazon lobbyists and representatives of companies that belong to the California Retailers Assn, one of the primary groups which has been supporting the California tax legislation. The centers would employ more than a thousand workers.
