Microsoft In Patent Deal With Volkswagen Supplier

Redmond-based Microsoft reports today that it has signed a patent licensing agreement with Volkswagen Group's supplier, e.solutions, which will give it access to its Extended File Allocation Table (exFAT) technology. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Microsoft said the patent deal, its first in the automotive sector, will be used for providing multimedia content to vehicles. e.solutions is a joint venture of Audi and Elektrobit.
