Starbucks Free Wi-Fi To Launch Tomorrow
Seattle-based Starbucks announced today that it will turn on unlimited, free Wi-Fi in its stores July 1st, at all of its U.S. and Canadian company-owned locations. The free Wi-Fi offering eliminates the prior, two-hour limit on access and the requirement that users be a member of its My Starbucks Rewards program. The new program will not require a user and password, nor will it require minimum purchases to activate. The new free wireless offering came after the coffee chain determined that free Wi-Fi was the top request of its customers, the firm said. Starbucks also said it is planning on rolling out its Starbucks Digital Network, a partnership with Yahoo which will offer premium content from newspapers and others to users of its Wi-Fi services, later this fall.
