GoAhead Software Shifts To Open Source, Buys Firm
Bellevue-based GoAhead Software, a developer of embedded middleware software, said today that it is shifting to an open source software model. The firm said that along with the shift to an open source business, the firm has acquired Avantellis, a blade middleware provider, from Emerson Network Power. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. GoAhead said it will provide its software through the OpenSAF Foundation, an open source group focused on developing carrier network software. GoAhead said it will offer a new integrated development environment (IDE), diagnostic tools, and other services around its various software offerings.
