Microsoft Looks To Boost Jobs For Vets
Microsoft Corp. is putting up cash and software to boost an effort to train armed forces veterans for civilian jobs, the company said Monday. Microsoft said it is contributing $2M in cash plus up to $6M in software over the next two years, to a competitive funding process for veterans service organizations, work force agencies, community colleges, and others who focus on training veterans for civilian careers. Microsoft said the first organization participating in its Elevate America effort is the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).
