Sammsoft Acquired By Support.com

Seattle-based Sammsoft, a developer of hard rive, registry, and other utility software for the PC, has been acquired by Support.com. According to Support.com, it paid $8.5M in cash for Sammsoft, which was started by former Microsoft employees. The firm said it has also hired all of Sammsoft's employees. Support.com said the acquisition would expand its consumer portfolio. Support.com provides online customer support and assistance, and is headquartered in Redwood City, California.
