Amazon Enhances Packaging Improvement Effort
Seattle-based Amazon.com is enhancing its Frustration-Free Packaging program, the company's effort to improve packaging by its vendors, saying this morning that it has introduced a new certification program for those vendors. The firm said its Frustration-Free Packaging Certification Program makes it easier for its vendors to participate in the program, through free submission to its own certification lab. Amazon said it has a "simple, efficient" process for vendors to get their packaging analyzed and modified by Amazon's lab. The Frustration Free Packaging effort, launched earlier this year, removes extraneous packaging, wire ties, and plastic clamshells to make product more customer- and earth-friendly.
