Clearwire Officially Turns On Vegas, Ties into Sprint
Kirkland-based Clearwire, which is deploying WiMAX-based mobile Internet service, has officially turned on its Las Vegas network, the firm said today. The firm's latest network reaches 1.7 million residents and 638 square miles in the city. In conjunction with the launch, the firm said it will be offering a new dual 4G/3G modem which will allow its customers to connect to both CLEAR's own 4G network and Sprint's mobile 3G network when those customers are out of coverage range. Clearwire is promoting its CLEAR service at the Mandalay Bay hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip today.
